What does the term “Reformed” actually mean?
The term “Reformed” has its origins in the protestant reformation which began in the 16th century, but its true origins follow the historic Christian faith. It is hearty, orthodox Biblical Christianity and is often represented in part by the “five solas” which are as follows:
Sola Scriptura: The authority of Scripture-Scripture alone.
Sola Gratia: The basis of salvation-Grace alone.
Sola Fide: The means of salvation-Faith alone.
Solus Christus: The merit of salvation-Christ alone.
Sola Gratia: To God alone be the glory.
